L'Oreal Telescopic Mascara Review!

I have many mascaras in my makeup collection. But here is one that I cannot live without...

L'Oreal Telescopic Mascara | £10.99

This is one of the best mascaras I have EVER tried! The brush is very thin and long, allowing you to get right to the root of your lashes and wiggle upwards to great long, fluttery lashes. It only takes on sweep to get amazing results with this. The formula is what I would describe as dry, because when you pull the wand out of the tube, your're not left with excess mascara at the end of the wand.

This is a lengthening mascara, sometimes I like to use a mascara that will give me volume first, then but this mascara over the top. By doing this it creates almost like "lash extensions". The price I would say if very reasonable for the results that you get. I also have the Benefit They're Real Mascara, yes it's a very good mascara but I can get the same effect with this L'Oreal telescopic and it's for half the price of the Benefit They're Real (which is around the £20 mark).

All in all, this is one mascara I cannot go without using when I put my makeup on. In the whole of my mascara collection there is not one that delivers this much length, I love it!

P.S Please excuse the state of my mascara (writing has worn off) as you can see, this is a very well loved mascara.

Have you tried this mascara? Tell me your thoughts?

Wilko's Hair Products and Makeup Brush

Pondering Wilko's the other day I was in need of some more dry shampoo and hair spray. However, for some reach I didn't reach for my usual brands of choice and opted to try Wilko's own brand.

I picked up

Wilko Hair Spray Extra Firm | £0.75p for 300ml

This is a pretty decent hair spray. It holds my desired style in place and brushes out easily for restyling. Also, this sprays evenly and gives my hair added shine. For the price, great value!

Wilko Dry Shampoo Volume | £1.00 for 200ml

I was super impressed with this dry shampoo! It does everything I need it to do and more. It gets rid of hair oil fast without leaving a white powdery look to the hair. Also, as this one is a voluminous dry shampoo, it defiantly lifted my hair up and gave me a "boost" of texture. Plus, the smells is clean and fresh. I find this to be better than Batiste and much cheaper to.

I also picked up

Wilko Premium Powder Brush | £4.00

The quality of this brush is AMAZING! It's so soft and smooth. The packaging reminds me of the Real Techniques bushes. Which I also have and I find this brush to be on par with those.

Wilko Premium Egg Shape Make up Sponge | £3.00

Now I haven't used this yet, so there will be a full review of this coming soon. But at a first look/feel this feels soft and bouncy.

Overall I'm very impressed with Wilko's own hair products and make up brushes.

Frizz Free Hair Saviour

I was finding that after blow drying my hair my hair was becoming frizzy with fly aways popping up all over. So I thought it was time to find a solution to my fly away fizzy hair!

L'oreal Studio Line Hot & Smooth Spray

The idea of this product is a heat protection spray which protect that hair upto 230°c and will give you smoother, straighter hair for upto three days.

After using this for nearly a month now I can safely safe this works! My frizzy, flyaway hair has been transformed to smooth, undercontrol, silky hair!

I also find that this does make my hair strighter, normally at the end of the day if I had straightened my hair that morning I would start to see like waves occuring near my fringe and layers. But not any more, woop.

The consistency of this is like a milk, when sprayed on the hair it doesn't leave a sricky residue nor does it make your hair feel crispy when straightened.

My hair looks and feel so much healthier.

Review: Seventeen Blemish BB Balm

There are many reasons why I love this product so much but if I told you all of them then is would be a very VERY long blog post.

So I'm going to try and keep this as to the point as I possibly can. So lets begin...

Until about a few months ago I'd never been one to reach out to BB creams nor had I ever tried one. But as I was looking for an alternative to the "traditional" foundation I spotted this.

The overall look to this product is what first drew my attention to the product, I feel it looks modern and good quality.

The overall "idea" of this BB cream is to provide a full coverage with blemish fighting and hydrating properties. This certainty is a product that actually, 100% does what it says it's going to do, now how many products can you think of that deliver this?

The coverage is full coverage and for a BB cream is slightly odd, but it works, oh it works so well. As you can sheer this out if you wanted a lighter coverage or put two layers on to provide a full coverage. Even when this is built up to a high coverage it does not feel or look like I've got layers of cakey foundation on.

The finish of this BB cream isn't stated on the packing but I find and others have commented on my skin saying it looks glowing without looking oily or creating more oil, I find this controls oil. Also, this minimizes pores, WITHOUT a primer!

This ticks all the boxes for me:

  • Full coverage without looking or feeling like you're caked in foundation
  • has built in skin care (like any BB cream) but is specially for blemish or blemish prone skin as it has breakout fighting ingredients in it and claims to improve skin within four weeks
  • Gives a natural glowing finish to skin
  • Controls excess oil
  • Minimizes the look of pores
This is a makeup product I truly cannot live without, I'm already on my second tube! This really makes my skin look and feel as though its flawless and offers much more than a foundation. At £6.99 it's a bargain (available at Boots) ! I would highly recommend you give this one a go!

Review: Maybelline Colour Elixir

Recently, I've seen a review of these and for some reason they really caught my eye! I'd never had a elixir type product before so trying these out was a real eye opener for me.

First of they are glossy, which I love! The feeling on the lips isn't at all sticky but neither will it slide of your lips within 30 minutes of wear. It's just got the right about of "stick" for the product to stay put without feeling sticky.

As for the colour payoff, amazing! This is literally like a liquid lipstick, it has very pigmented rich colour. Even when the glossiness has worn away you are left with the colour almost like a stain on the lips.

Now I'm not sure if this product is supposed to do this but after I take my makeup off along with this my lips feel so soft and plump, almost like I'd worn a lip balm.

Overall, this Colour Elixir gives you the shine of a lip gloss, the colour pigmentation of a lipstick and the care and moisture of a lip balm.

The shades I have so far are 710 Rose Redefined and 725 Caramel Infused

Left to right in the image.

No doubt I will picking up more shades, these have become fast become "go to" lip products.

Primark: Metallic Eye Shadow Pallet Review!

To be honest, I wasn't expecting much from this pallet. BUT, for £2.50 this pallet has actually amazed me! You get 8 metallic shades which include green, dark blue, pink orange and neutral brown and and highlighting shades.

The pigmentation is very very good for a pallet that costs so little. There are no shade names but for £2.50 I can live with. I thought my MUA pallet where brilliant for their price and pigmentation. But i would go to say that price and pigmentation wise this pallet is much much better.

Also, in the Primark P.S Love... beauty line are two other eye shadow pallets I am defiantly going to try now the "day" (neutral light shades) and "night" (darker smokey shades) pallets, as the metallic pallet has impressed me so much!

Micellar Water: B.Pure

Recently I've seen Micellar water being talked about everywhere. So when my current toner (boots Simply Sensitive Refreshing Toner) had been used up. I opted for B. Pure Micellar water.

This can be used on all skin types and works well with my sensitive skin. This makes my skin feel plump and moisturized, not at all dry. Also, this helps vanish pores and smells a little bit like vanilla, yay!

Primark False Nails!

I thought i would write a post telling you all how impressed i am with Primark nails. Recently, they have added more patterns and styles to the range of nails they have from glitter, to flower prints, to the famous french nail and now even Christmas themed nails!

For just ONE pound you get 24 nails two sets of differently sized nail sets and some pretty decent glue!

However, i like to used a different nail glue and they will last on me for around 4/5 days. I love them, i find them so much easier them taking the time to paint my nails and the look a lot better too. I struggle with panting the nails on my left hand since I'm left handed, i always have one hand decent and the other not so good. So these little beauties stop that!

Let me know if you've tried any of the Primark false nails and which style/pattern are your favorites?

Favorite berry lipsticks!

Here are some berry lips that I've been wearing a lot recently :)

MUA | Shade 2
My all time favorite lipstick! I think the colour works really well with my complexion, it's higly pigmented, moisturizing and it smells (and tastes) like vanilla. What's not to like?

Mac Lipstick | Craving
This is a new lipstick in my collection and I fell in love with the from the moment I wore it. As this is a amplified lipstick the color is very opque and has a semie-matte/velvet texture. I find this isn't to drying on the lips and lasts for a long time too. Definitely worth picking up next time your at Mac if you like berry shades.

Seventeen Stay Pout | Rule Breaker
Now, i'm going to be honest at first I may have only picked this lipstick up because of the pretty packaging and for the limited edition-ness. But this has been a favorite of mine all throughout Christmas until now, I feel like this should be named "my most worn Christmas lippie", hehe. Velvet texture, the same kind of constancy of the Mac craving and it's long lasting.

Shoes glorious shoes!!!

These boots from Select I have been living in! They're so comfy, they fasen with a zip at the back.

They do have rather a noticeable chunky heel but nothing to in your face, giving them a modern twist.

I love the gold detailing on these and for only £20 they are a barginous staple in your autumn/winter wardrobe.

Autum love: Topshop Joni jeans

My autum staple (clothes wise) has been my Joni jeans from Topshop. I love high waisted jeans so when I knew these where SUPER high waisted I ran to my nearest Topshop to pick up a pair. The color I have is in black and the material is very good quality. These have to be the most comfortable pair of jeans I own! Love them!!!

What's your autum love?

High Brow Products

Yesterday I came across a brand I'd never heard of until now. I was looking through the makeup section in B&M, they always have such good bargains in there! I discovered High Brow, what first caught my attention was the packaging, I thought it looked so fresh and modern with the white and patterned tops.

I picked up two lip glosses and two nail varnishes. Neither if the two have shade names but the quality of the products is amazing and much better than I originally thought. With the lipglosses they are so pigmented it's like a liquid lipgloss and after a few hours wear when the glossiness has gone your left with just the colour, as if you're wearing a actual lipstick.

As for the nail varnish, this too is also very pigmented. With just one coat you're good to go, the consistency is very think and shiny, almost like the formula is like a gel nail varnish.

All of the products where somewhere around the two pound mark, bargin!
